Activity
Items needed: paint, paper, and scissors (to be used by an adult). Messy finger painting may be an enjoyable task for both you and your child! This activity is based on when Yahusha said:
I am The Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing.
Help your child to paint the palm of their hand and then make a print of their hand as you see in the picture.
You can use any colour paint, multi-coloured hand prints will be fine too (see picture).
It would be nice for all members in your household to make a handprint you could then display them on a branch, like this =>
Or you could attach your handprints to the picture like this =>

The answers can all be found in the story below. The story is based on a parable told by Yahusha (Jesus) and recorded in the Bible for us.
A parable is a simple story used to show a moral or spiritual lesson, Yahusha (Jesus) told many parables. The parable used here is called: The Parable of The Prodigal Son found in Luke 15:11-32.
Prodigal means: to be wasteful. For this age group of children I have used a story which is based on Yahusha’s parable of The Prodigal Son. You may prefer to read the Scripture as it is written in the Bible or you can read both.
A story based on the parable of The Prodigal Son
There lived a man who had two sons, both sons worked together on their fathers farm. Toby was the eldest son; he was a good son and worked hard on his dad’s farm. Toby loved his dad very much.
Eric was the younger son. Eric loved his dad very much also and he too, worked hard on his dad’s farm. Eric was also a good son. One day, Eric had become tired and bored of working on his dad’s farm every day. He began to wonder if his life would be better if he left home and met different people. Eric went to his dad and said, “Dad, please can you give me all of the money you have saved up for me because I want to leave home and work for myself?” Dad was not happy about this at all but he gave his son what he asked for. Eric packed up all of his things into his suitcase, took the money from his dad and said goodbye to everyone at home.
Unfortunately, life away from home was not as easy as Eric had thought it would be. Soon, his money was all gone because he had to pay for food and somewhere to live. He had to find a job so that he could earn some more money. Eric found work on a another farm and it was his job to feed the pigs.
One day when he was working, feeding the pigs, Eric was so hungry that he almost wanted to eat some of the pigs food! Yuk! That would not have been a nice meal at all! Eric thought about home.
“What am I doing here?” Eric thought to himself. “At my dad’s house the servants are much more comfortable than me, they have enough food to eat and a nice bed to sleep in but I am here and I have nothing!”
Eric decided to go back home to his dad’s farm. He packed up his suitcase and went back home.
As Eric arrived at the farm, his dad saw him walking toward the house. Eric’s dad was so happy to see his young son, he ran to Eric and hugged him tightly.
“I am so sorry dad, I am sorry I left you all. Please can you forgive me for leaving and wasting all of the money?” Eric was sorry for what he’d done, he asked his dad to forgive him and he prayed and said sorry to God also.
Eric’s dad was so very happy that Eric had returned safely.
“Yes, my son, I forgive you, I am just happy that you are well and that you have come back to us! Let’s have a party to celebrate!
Eric’s dad told his servants to organise a party so that they could celebrate.
Thank God, Eric was home, safe and sound.

The Son Who Left Home (Also known as The Prodigal Son or The Lost Son)
11 Then Yahusha (Jesus) said, "A man had two sons. 12 The younger son said to his father, 'Give me my share of the property.' So the father divided the property between his two sons. 13 Then the younger son gathered up all that was his and travelled far away to another country. There he wasted his money in foolish living. 14 After he had spent everything, a time came when there was no food anywhere in the country, and the son was poor and hungry. 15 So he got a job with one of the citizens there who sent the son into the fields to feed pigs. 16 The son was so hungry that he wanted to eat the pods the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. 17 When he realized what he was doing, he thought, 'All of my father's servants have plenty of food. But I am here, almost dying with hunger. 18 I will leave and return to my father and say to him, "Father, I have sinned against God and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son, but let me be like one of your servants." ' 20 So the son left and went to his father. "While the son was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt sorry for his son. So the father ran to him and hugged and kissed him. 21 The son said, 'Father, I have sinned against God and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' 22 But the father said to his servants, 'Hurry! Bring the best clothes and put them on him. Also, put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 And get our fat calf and kill it so we can have a feast and celebrate. 24 My son was dead, but now he is alive again! He was lost, but now he is found!' So they began to celebrate.

So his father went out and begged him to come in. 29 But the older son said to his father, 'I have served you like a slave for many years and have always obeyed your commands. But you never gave me even a young goat to have at a feast with my friends. 30 But your other son, who wasted all your money on prostitutes, comes home, and you kill the fat calf for him!' 31 The father said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. 32 We had to celebrate and be happy because your brother was dead, but now he is alive. He was lost, but now he is found.' "

Choose a Bible verse for your morning reading. Enjoy a time of prayer and just read and think about your Scripture. You can choose how long you spend doing this.
Choose a verse for the night also, this can be the same as your morning verse, it’s up to you. Just before you go to sleep, read your evening verse, think about your day, pray and talk to Yahuah about whatever you want to. Thank Him and go to sleep.
Remember your prayer does not need to be long unless, you have lots to speak about that is! You can sing, talk or just be quiet and listen, you choose what is comfortable for you to do.
