Passover 2022 - Introduction

The theme for Passover this year is ‘Rectification’. The Oxford dictionary defines this as: the action of putting something right.

First and foremost - Yahusha Messiah ‘put things right’, opening up the way for us to return to our Heavenly Father - through His sacrifice on the Cross.

It’s time for us to recalibrate, to ‘put things right’.

What changes must we make in preparation for His imminent return? Changes of heart, mind, even understanding. Time is short and Yahusha wants His Bride ready and be actively involved in His work. Our Passover season this year focuses on some of the things Yahuah has shown us that He would like ‘putting right’.

We invite you to join us in this journey of ‘rectification’ with the following services.

‘To Seder, or not to Seder?’ That is the question

Over the years, Yahuah has taken us on a journey of learning about Passover, its importance in our walk, and how to observe and celebrate it from a New Testament perspective.

Central to Passover is the Seder meal. The Jewish traditions of the Seder, dating back centuries, point to the work Yahuah did in bringing Israel out of Egypt (ie. the Exodus). The version of the Seder that Yahuah has guided us to focuses on recognising and celebrating the completed work of Yahusha Messiah and how He brings us out of sin.

Just as ‘the Law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ’ (Gal. 3:24), so the Seder has had the same role over the years - to help show us how to live and function in Yahusha.

We’ve been brought to understand that we are to be the New Testament Seder in our lifestyle and worship of Yahusha - rather than having a literal Seder meal. Whether we partake of this wonderful meal or not, the focus now is to embody what we have learned from the Seder.

So, ‘to Seder or not to Seder?’

If you do choose to celebrate Passover with the Seder meal, please don’t think it excludes you from the service, as it can also be eaten on the following evening. Here are some links that you may find helpful:

Explaining Passover

Passover is one of the three main feasts God asks us to celebrate, in Leviticus 23. But why are we still celebrating it today? This and other questions about Passover are answered in this two-part Passover teaching, explaining the history and the “Seder plate” items in more detail.

Need a clean slate? Apply the blood!

As we are coming to the end of the Feast of Passover, we remember our theme of Rectification and how it is Yahusha’s blood, applied to our lives, that has the power to afford us a ‘clean slate’ and bring us in ‘right-standing’ with Yahuah.
